Performance

Run fair, consistent appraisals across every department

Appraisals become hard to compare when every manager uses a different form and process. Performance lets the company set its rating scales, criteria and forms once, while still letting departments appraise in their own way. It then runs each appraisal round from self-assessment to sign-off.

How it works

5 steps, from start to finish

  1. Set up appraisals

HR defines rating scales, criteria, appraisal forms and who appraises, and departments can keep their own setup where needed.

  2. Launch a round

HR chooses the periods, the people in the round and the deadlines, previews it, then launches it.

  3. Self and manager

Employees give their own view and appraisers score goals, criteria and questions on the form.

  4. Review and calibrate

A second reviewer can check the appraisal, and ratings can be adjusted against the expected spread before release.

  5. Acknowledge or dispute

Employees acknowledge their result or raise a dispute for it to be resolved.

What it does best

Built for the way HR really works

Department-specific setup

Each unit uses its own criteria, forms and process, or falls back to its department's or the company's.

Goals feed appraisals

Goal scores from the chosen performance periods are brought into the appraisal form.

Setup fixed per round

Each appraisal keeps the form and process it started with, so changes made in the middle of a round apply only to the next one.

Calibration with reasons

Compare ratings with the company's expected spread, move them with a recorded reason and release them when ready.

Deadline reminders

Employees and appraisers are reminded as deadlines approach and when anything is overdue.

Disputes built in

Where the company allows it, employees can dispute a result within a set number of days.
